Q&A WITH POOJA SHARMA – BRAND DIRECTOR

What inspired you to start your business? How did you go about it?

I wanted to create and stock products that I believed had everyday purpose. Things that looked good and had excellent quality, but that also ignited the senses and made the consumer be more mindful of their simple everyday routines.

Was there a turning point when you knew you were onto a good thing? 

To be honest I think my very first sale, which was literally an hour or so after launching my site, was my turning point. I still remember that lovely feeling.

What do you find to be the most rewarding part of your business? 

The wonderful people I meet and have met along the way, and the people that are willing to take a chance with me and help me out as I build my business. The lovely loyal customers who keep buying the products I spend so much time developing and perfecting.

What sort of person buys your products? 

Women and men who look after their skin, love a well designed product, appreciate scent, and acknowledge the importance of sleep, skincare and nourishment.

What makes your product different? Why do you think it has succeeded?

The striking packaging stands my product apart. My background in fashion and graphics means that packaging and branding is naturally important to me. But equally, my passion for creating a unique and holistic product that has been painstakingly and lovingly developed is also a strong point.

Have you identified any design and/or business trends you have had to address in the last year?

I have been approved by PETA for having cruelty free and vegan ingredients in my products. I wanted to let my customers know that I care about what ingredients I put into my products and onto my skin. There have always been people out there that care about whether products are tested on animals, but I feel like there is also a lot more awareness into whether the ingredients are ethically sourced.
